Experience


Niloufar Yashar is a doctor of Psychology with a license in Marriage and Family Therapy practicing psychotherapy with children, adolescents, young adults, parents, and families since 1997 (MFT 37773). Niloufar is currently on the board of senior licensed staff therapists at Children’s Institute Inc. where she provides school-based individual, family and group psychotherapy for clients, in addition to supervising, mentoring and coaching new therapists.

She is certified in variety of evidenced based practices such as  PCIT (Parent Child Interaction Therapy) by UC Davis, TFCBT (Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and CM -TFT (Culturally Modified Trauma Focused Therapy) by NCTSN National Child Traumatic stress Network, CBITS (Cognitive Behavioral Interventions for Trauma in the Schools), IY ( Incredible Years ) and CPP ( Child Parent Psychotherapy).

 

Education


Niloufar earned her Doctorate of psychology from Ryokan University in 2013, Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in 1997 and her Bachelors of Science in Engineering from University of California Los Angeles in 1983.

She has dedicated a great portion of her life to her gifts of life, motherhood, family and friends while developing her professional career and personal growth.

She has been a member of CAMFT since 1998 and has recently joined IAPA, the Iranian American Psychological Association.

Languages

She lives biculturally and is fluent in English, Spanish and Farsi.
